Framed by an ornate brocade fabric, this thangka features Yellow Tara. Tara embodies the sacred feminine in Buddhism. Her presence in Buddhism can be traced back to the 6th century CE, prior to which there were no female bodhisattvas. 

This beautiful thangka was made in Nepal. Each one is truly unique, displaying artistic differences in color and fabric designs. Such variations are signs of the maker’s handmade touch. This banner measures about 23 inches across at the top and about 38 inches long. The hanging’s framed painting measures approximately 10.5 inches across and 14 inches long.
