The Revell 1/72 Soviet Heavy Tank IS-2 from the plastic tank model kits range accurately recreates the real life Cold War era Russian tank. Introduced in late 1943 in response to German Panther and T iger tanks, Russia’s ‘IS’ series replaced the earlier ‘KV’ series and featured heavier armour and crucially, more powerful main guns. The IS - 2 mounted the formidable ex - Naval 122mm main gun, which was capable of defeating the armour of both German tanks and came as a real shock to German tank crews when first encountered!
