Tardigrades are remarkable creatures! Also called "water bears" and "moss piglets," (lol, really?), they can be found in nearly every environment, aand can survive the harshest conditions, even outer space!

On Star Trek: Discovery, the alien creatures nicknamed "tardigrades" are even more remarkable, capable of traveling space and time via the mycelial network! Whether to find delicious mushroom spores, or pursue her freshly-laid eggs, no obstacle can stand in the way of the tardigrade!

Fun fact: in the Short Treks episode "Ephraim and Dot," Ephraim the tardigrade was named after Johann August Ephraim Goeze, the zoologist who first described the "little water bear."

We were absolutely obsessed with how adorable Ephraim the animated tardigrade looked, and created this graphic to express how much we love her!
