Arnold Wesker is a gang leader in Gotham City — a psychotic, weak, and fearful man who struggles to perceive reality. Until, that is, the day he acquires a ventriloquist dummy named Scarface. The puppet offers Wesker a completely different demeanour: where Arnold is timid and evasive, Scarface is dark, commanding, and malevolent. Whether it is a genuine personality disorder that fractures Wesker's identity, or something more sinister lurking within the puppet itself, is a question Gotham City has never been able to definitively answer. This original Ventriloquist stands apart from his successor Peyton Riley, offering a distinctly different tactical profile.
On the tabletop, The Ventriloquist (Arnold Wesker) uniquely comes with two character tiles representing his dual nature. As Arnold Wesker, he is evasive and capable of supporting his allies while posing a low direct threat. As The Ventriloquist — with Scarface in control — he becomes violent and capable of generating significantly more threat on the board. This duality makes him one of the most mechanically distinctive villains in the Gotham City Chronicles roster.
Released as a Kickstarter-exclusive expansion during Monolith's Batman: Gotham City Chronicles campaign, The Ventriloquist (Arnold Wesker) was never made available through standard retail channels. Single character expansions from this line are produced in limited quantities with no mass retail restocking, making sealed blister packs increasingly scarce on the secondary market.
