This 1:72 diecast model of a Luftwaffe Heinkel He 111 from KG 26 represents the aircraft used in one of the Luftwaffe’s most effective anti-shipping tactics during WWII. Kampfgeschwader 26 reached the peak of its operational success using a method known as the “golden comb.” This involved multiple He 111s flying in a low-altitude abreast formation and launching torpedoes simultaneously at Allied convoys—typically at dusk, when visibility was poor and the element of surprise was greatest.
This coordinated tactic caused significant disruption to Allied naval operations and marked one of the Luftwaffe’s most innovative uses of medium bombers in maritime warfare.
This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand.
