Well suited for low-maintenance landscapes, the Needlepoint Holly is a rapid grower and will quickly add a spectacular addition to your garden or landscape. It is a hardy holly with lustrous, dark green, spiny leaves. If pollinated, the clusters of inconspicuous flowers in spring give way to abundant red fruits in fall which lasts through winter. What's more, the Needlepoint Holly's leaves don't have the multiple prongs you'd normally see in hollies. Instead, each leaf has a single point, hence the shrub's name. When Needlepoint Holly is planted close together a dense hedge forms a great foundation, hedge, border, or screen. Others use it a specimen plant to add evergreen color to their landscaping. The Needlepoint Holly is notably low-maintenance - it thrives in moist well-drained soil, and thrives in partial to full sun.
