Why does this hood require hood pins?

Carbon fiber panels have different latch geometry than OEM steel hoods. Hood pins provide a secure, redundant hold and are the industry standard for carbon hoods. They're a straightforward installation on the underside of the panel.

Does the panel come with a finish, or do I need to clear coat it?

The hood ships with raw carbon fiber. A clear coat application is recommended to protect the weave from UV exposure and environmental contamination. Sand and prep the surface before applying your chosen clear coat system.

Will this hood fit the same mounting points as the OEM hood?

Yes. The panel is designed with factory-correct lines and hinge locations. Verify your vehicle's existing hood hinges are in serviceable condition before installation, as any wear will transfer to the new panel.
